How it works

  1. Upload an image — team logos and simple designs work best. High resolution is needed to avoid jagged edges
  2. Remove the background and detect colors
  3. Adjust base/top thickness and hole size if you want something different from the defaults
  4. Generate & Download for your color STLs
  5. Click Download Chain Link (3MF) for the matching connector piece
  6. Print, assemble, and hang it up, or put it around your neck!

Detailed Instructions

What makes this different from the regular Keychain tool

  • Bigger by default. Print size defaults to 150mm, and thickness defaults to a chunky 7mm total (5mm base + 2mm raised color layer) — built for a bold, physical presence, not a subtle everyday keychain.
  • A real mounting tab, not a hidden hole. Every design gets a rounded tab that sticks out past the edge — like a real commercial keychain loop — with a large hole through the center, sized for actual chain hardware. It’s not a hole hidden inside the print.
  • The tab sits at base height only. The raised color detail doesn’t extend into the tab — it stays flush at the base plate’s thickness, so it doesn’t interfere with how the chain link connects.
  • A bonus download. Every generation includes a second button for a matching Chain Link piece — a separate, fixed 3MF file (not generated from your image) that connects your charm to an actual chain.

Choosing your image

  • Team logos, mascots, and bold graphics work great. Simple shapes with a handful of distinct colors give the cleanest, sturdiest result at this larger, chunkier scale.
  • PNG with transparency works best for clean background detection, though it’s optional.

Thickness

Base thickness (the solid plate) and top thickness (the raised color detail) are adjustable independently. Defaults are 5mm and 2mm — raise either for an even chunkier piece, or lower them to save filament.

Mounting Tab

  • Position — where the tab sits around the edge, in degrees.
  • Hole size — diameter of the mounting hole, defaults to 20mm for real chain hardware.
  • Wall thickness — how much material surrounds the hole within the tab, defaults to 4mm for durability.

Export

Click Generate & Download for a ZIP with one STL per color. Then click Download Chain Link (3MF) separately — this file is always the same, ready to print alongside your charm.
